Carrie’s JABS program is unique and specifically designed with taiko players in mind. When we practice taiko, the body dances, with the initial point of energy coming from the core. When the core is strong, it’s easier to be aware of its ability to propel energy through the rest of the body, making our performance more dynamic and fluid. In addition to the core, our joints act as pivots for movement and there are hundreds of them in the body. JABS increases the range of motion of the body’s joints, challenges balance, stabilizes the core, and improves alignment. This results in a refined body awareness and fewer injuries when practicing taiko.
